You will be required to visit a representative of the writing center. This assignment is worth 10 points. After this visit you will have to write a short paper [~400-600 words] that will detail both of the following:

1) how you modifiedyour thesis in a paper (preferably your research paper) to better fit the assignment and the evidence you have accumulated.

Questions you may ask yourself are:

a) Does the thesis make a claim?

b) Does the thesis make an effort to avoid proving what would be considered by most to be common knowledge

c) Is the thesis specific enough?

d) Does the thesis reflect the overall organization of the paper (i.e. are the main sections of the paper reflected in your thesis?)

e) Does the thesis avoid vague and generalizing language?

f) Does the thesis avoid subjectively charged words that would be difficult to illustrate objectively?

g) How might the thesis be modified in order to more accurately reflect the information I am presenting in the paper?

2) Discuss what kind of appropriate and/or additional materials could be used for strengthening the paper. What strategy would one take in order to locate that kind of information?
