Assignment For Paul Hawken—The Ecology of Commerce

1. Read Paul Hawken's The Ecology of Commerce and answer the study questions.
2. In The Ecology of Commerce, Paul Hawken provides a critique of contemporary corporate culture and then provides a number of proposals to reform this system. In your paper you should provide a proposal for the reform of a particular system. The default system for your proposal will be the reform of contemporary corporate culture.
3. Mirroring Hawken's method, provide an analysis of the problem that you are addressing in the system you are writing about. Then after you have established the "problem" in the system, you may proceed with your proposal.
4. Document all resources that you use in fleshing out your proposal or establishing your solution, This could include:

   a) any documents that are needed to establish the case of the problem

   b) any documents that authenticate the problem you present (i.e. authorities that corroborate your analysis of the problem

   c) any source material that might be referenced as an authority for ideas/solutions you present

   d) any source material that helps to describe or helps to provide an analogy for your solution
