1. Find an item in the Penny Saver (classified ads selling items of nominal value)
2. In your mind weigh the item you have chosen.
Try to imagine it physicallywrite a description of it using precise language that reflects careful observation of it (of course, for this you will have to imagine a similar item from your own pastor simply describe a similar item as you are looking at it).
imagine the life of the item in the person's house who is selling it.
what kind of history has it had?
what kind of people are selling it?
what did these people do with this item? their emotional attachments?
perhaps even imagine yourself going to the person's house and purchasing the item where it then takes on a completely new identity as your own possession.
Note: for those brave of heart and with unlimited amounts of time on their hands, call on the chosen item, set up an appointment to visit, and when you arrive, feign interest in the item so that the ad-placers will give you a little family history of the item. Then come up with an excuse why you can't buy the item. From this, devise a life history of the object.
