1. Find a poem in a foreign language that uses Arabic letters (Scandinavian and Slavic languages work well [below are some sites]). The language you use should be one which you have no knowledge of whatsoever.

2. Translate the sound of the words in the foreign language into roughly equivalent-sounding English words.
• Scan for interesting combinations and use those to start a freewrite.
• after homophonically translating a poem, see if there isn't some semblance of order that might serve as the basis for a poem after rewriting.
